Preserving basil

Basil is so delicious that I love to prolong my supply of it. To preserve the last of the seasons Basil, pick all the remaining leaves from plants, rinse them in a colander, shred and pack them into ice cube trays. Fill the trays with water and freeze. Once frozen bag the cubes and they can then be easily used as your winter basil ‘hit’.
