Although it is still summer, 12mm of rain and a mild weather week have convinced me to start planting again.
Worm castings are fabulous for late summer plantings of seedlings, wrap the roots of the young seedlings around the castings as you place them in the hole. The ever absorbent castings act like a water reservoir through the hot days and keep the seedlings well watered.
Late last year I decided (probably foolishly) to leave a couple of apples on my young trees. They have developed and will shortly be the first apples produced here at TPOW.
With TPOW’s Introduction day looming I am busy tidying and mulching. Hmmmm, mulching – I don’t think that ever stops!
